歩き疲れた悟空のセリフ。

Are we done walking yet?!
どこまで歩くんだよッ！

スルーしかけたけど、"Are we done walking ～" っておかしいんじゃないか？
平叙文に直せば "We are done walking 〜" よね？
"be done doing" なんて形知らないんだけど( ；∀；)

デュアルスコープやネクステ、英語の構文150にも載ってない。
受け身……ではないだろう。

でも、「できたよ！」「終わったよ！」の意味で "I'm done!" って言ったりするし。
walking を done の目的語として考えれば、"Are we done walking yet?!" も、「もう歩き終わった？」の意味になって解決なんじゃ……

と思ったけど甘かった(￣▽￣)

辞書でdo を引くと、"S have[be] done" という用法が載っていて、意味は「＜人が＞（行動・仕事などを）終える、すます（finish）」。
今回のセリフの意味にも当てはまりそう！と喜んだものの、残念なことにこれは自動詞の用法。
ということは、walking は目的語になれない。

じゃあ他動詞で似たような用法はないのか！？と思って探したところ、"S have done O" 「＜人が＞O＜事＞を終える、すませる（finish）」があったけど、be じゃなくて have ……。
これと同じ項目に"S be done" というのが載っていて、これはセリフと同じ be が使われているけど、説明によると「＜事が＞終わる」の意味。つまり事物が主語なわけだ。

ダメじゃん。

辞書には、先に書いた自動詞の用法に関連する成句として、"have[be] done with O" 「＜仕事など＞を終える、すます」というのも載っていて、have と be の置き換えができるみたいだから、他動詞の "S have done O" の場合でも置き換えできたりしないのかなー、なんて思うんだけどどうなんだろう？
というか私の頭ではもうそれしか考えられなくなってる(T_T)
