紅孩児の手下のモブ妖怪のセリフ。

Victory goes to the swift!!
先手必勝！！

swift はシス単には「すばやい」という意味の形容詞として載っている。
このセリフではthe が付いているから、きっとシス単に載ってないだけで名詞の意味もあるんだろうと思い辞書を引いてみたけど、どうも違うみたい。

いや、名詞としての用法もあったんだけど、名詞swift は「アマツバメ」という鳥のことを指すらしいのでこのセリフには当てはまらないだろうし。

ことわざみたいなものかな？と思ってググってみたけどヒットせず。

元の日本語のセリフから考えても、ここでのgo は数ある自動詞の用法の一つ"S go to O" で「＜遺産・勝利などが＞＜人＞に与えられる、～のものとなる」の意味だろうから、the swift が人を表す名詞なのは間違いないと思うんだけど……

ん？もしかして(ー_ー)!!

これって the rich「お金持ちの人」、the old「年配の人」みたいに、the＋形容詞で「～の人々」の意味なんじゃ！？
すばやい人々＝先に行動を起こせる人。
きっとそうでしょ！と思う！ので解決☆ってことで。
